There are 3 main types of automation for gates for a domestic property: Swing gates, Tracked sliding gates and cantilevered sliding gates. Each type of opening will have its own subtleties that will dictate what type of automation your gate can have.

Gate Automation

The underground solution situated at the base of any gate piers or posts and flush with the driveway, is very neat, un-obtrusive, very popular and considered the most aesthetically-pleasing and discreet type of powered gate operator.

The above-ground solution is a gate-mounted operator expanding and contracting to push and pull the gate into the open and closed positions. It is also considered to be a better option on close-boarded gates because it is positioned across the gate leaf offering more Access Control

Access control

When it comes to access control there are a wealth of options and brands. You can interface with these systems in various different ways - calling the gate with a built in sim card to send an open message, to GPS geo-fence technology that wil open when your phone is nearby.

We recommend hard wiring most solutions in so there is less margin for error. Please note with many wireless systems a lot factors come into play, the network strength, distance from the house/wifi signal, whether there are any walls blocking the wireless signal.
